Atelier Artéfact is a multifaceted studio dedicated to providing a dynamic environment in which current and emerging Quebec artists can explore, design and create unique works in metal and complementary media. With an emphasis on precious metals, the studio’s comprehensive suite of professional equipment and tools enables Quebec metal artists to reach their full creative potential.

Objectives of the studio

• Establish a creative space that fosters the exchange of ideas and creativity among metal artists and jewelers in Montreal, throughout Quebec and abroad;

• Ensure affordable access to the resources needed to design and conceive works of hand crafted jewellery and metal art;

• Provide artists with the use of an extensive suite of professional quality tools and equipment to enable the production of unique metal art and jewellery;

• Give access to an extensive library of jewellery and metal arts books and resources, to enrich technical knowledge and inspire creative exploration;

• Foster research into new technologies, processes and techniques that could have a transformative effect on the creation of jewellery and metal arts;

• Develop opportunities for contemporary artists to explore and integrate metal arts into their creative process;

• Promote the work of participating artists through in-house and affiliated shows and exhibits;

• Encourage dynamic, interdisciplinary discussions of the cultural, historical and practical role of metal arts in our society.
